Rules of Play
** OPENING ON THE 23RD FEB **
Rules of Play
A Little More Detail..
Our play areas are designed to ensure that everyone has a safe and fun time. By entering Darwins Town you agree to abide by the following rules of play:
Each child must be accompanied by a parent or adult guardian. Parents or guardians must remain on the premises and within eyesight of the children in their care and accept full responsibility for them at all times.
Know where your child is and make sure the child knows where you are at all times. If you accidentally lose sight of your child, ask one of the Team and we will help to find them quickly.
No adults are permitted to enter the play area unless accompanying a child.
Please observe the child(ren) to ensure that they are capable of using the equipment safely. Please explain these rules of play and monitor their behaviour.
Some tips for playing safe:
Objects should not be thrown at each other.
Please do not play in front of slide exits.
Do not climb up the slides.
Do not take sharp objects into the play areas.
Do not climb on the netted walls or the system structure.
Observe age restrictions – age restrictions vary dependant on the play zone that visitors are using. These are in place for the safety and enjoyment of all children.
No food or drink is to be taken into the equipment area and it is a gum free zone.
Shoes and footwear are not permitted in the play areas (including adults).
We encourage children to play, run free and explore in a safe and stimulating environment. As such, there are inherent risks that are always associated with children playing and having fun together. These include children being exposed to moderate physical activity, tripping, falling and bumping into fixed objects and other children. Inform us immediately if your child has any sort of accident, however minor, where the accident will be recorded.
We want everyone to have a fun time, so they should be dressed ready to play. We recommend long sleeves and trousers, no watches or jewellery, and that you take extra care if you wear glasses or hearing aids.
Please remove your shoes before entering the play area (adults and children). Everyone must wear socks or tights. Socks are available to buy for £1.00 at the counter.
Only food and drinks purchased at Darwins Town may be consumed on the premises. The exception to this would be baby food.
The eating areas are kept away from the play equipment to avoid slips, trips, choking and mess. Please keep food and drinks in the designated areas. If you are enjoying a hot drink store your beverage safely at high level and be mindful of little people!
We cannot accept liability for loss or theft of any personal items including lost phones.
Please be mindful of how you and your children interact with those around you/them. Disrespectful and abusive behaviour towards others could result in being asked to leave. We want everyone to respect each other’s diversity and uniqueness.
We have separate age-appropriate play areas suited to the age and development of your child. For everyone’s safety please adhere to all age and height restrictions.
The Dingle Area has been designed for babies and crawlers, up to 2 years of age.
The Role Play Area's have been designed for children from 3 years of age and above. The play area is not recommended for children above the age of 6 years. Parent supervision is strictly required at all times.
All our play equipment is designed to be fun and safe. We have a fully documented and controlled risk assessment of the areas, and regular checks carried out. We cannot be held responsible for accidents that may occur as a result of playing on our equipment. Please make sure that children do not become overheated and do not climb up the slide or any netting/equipment.
Feel free to take photographs of your own children, but for your personal use only. Please ensure to ask permission of other parents if other children are in view.
Children who are unwell, or who have been unwell, should not visit for at least 48 hours. Children who become unwell whilst at the venue should leave the venue immediately.
Nappy changing and the use of potties etc. should be conducted in the toilet where baby changing facilities are available. Place nappies in the correct bins provided.
Please leave all prams and buggies in the allocated area at the entrance. Exceptions may be made for sleeping babies/children. We do not accept any liability for any loss or damage to property left in the pram/buggy area.
Entrance fee's are non-refundable, however you can change the booking up to 12 hours before.
Each play session is 90 minutes long.
No smoking is permitted on the site premises including E-cigarettes/vapes.
Darwins Town have made this play area as safe as possible, however the very nature of children’s play means that accidents can occasionally happen. Darwins Town therefore does not accept any responsibility for injury or damage to children or clothing whilst using this play area.
Children and their belongings must be always supervised by a parent or guardian whilst within the play area & on the premises.
